Rachel Sanders, a junior chemistry major, recently won an Outstanding Presentation prize at The University of Memphis Chemistry Department′s 33rd Undergraduate Research Conference. The conference, drawing students from 24 colleges and universities in seven states, featured 52 student oral presentations.

Rhodes has been named to the 2013 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll With Distinction.

Learn where Rhodes students can go study in the Memphis community when the beautiful library gets just a little too familiar.

For Tiana Winstead ’16, taking Professor Stephen Haynes’ religious studies course on the Holocaust meant so much more than showing up for class three times a week. “I remember mornings when my suitemates and I would be discussing genocide while brushing our teeth,” says Winstead to explain how in-depth discussions continued outside the classroom as part of the “Faith, Text and Genocide” learning community.

Dr. John E. Murray, J. R. Hyde III Professor of Political Economy at Rhodes, recently was interviewed for the podcast New Books in History.

Rhodes alumnus Joshua Fuchs has published “Getting Started in Undergraduate Research” in Astrobites.

For the first time in school history, the Rhodes Women′s Basketball program has received a bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Rhodes defeated Millsaps 66-64 to win the first Southern Athletic Association Women′s Basketball Championship this weekend.

The Alpha Phi Epsilon chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society recently inducted 44 new members. Induction into the society recognizes outstanding students of history.

Phi Alpha Theta president Dorothy Svgdik presided over the ceremony, which included a keynote lecture by Wayne Dowdy, archivist at the Memphis Public Library, who spoke about the Memphis Room at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library. Dowdy was introduced by Phi Alpha Theta faculty advisor Professor Etty Terem. The induction ceremony and lecture was attended by students, family, and faculty.
