Alumna Carol Wicker ’11 Appointed to North Carolina Governor’s Teacher Advisory Committee

Carol Wicker, Rhodes alumna and English teacher at Wakefield High School in Wake County, N.C., has been appointed to the Teacher Advisory Committee of North Carolina by Governor Pat McCrory. The group will advise the governor on improving student outcomes, compensating teachers and recognizing innovative schools, as well as other education matters.

After graduating from Rhodes in 2011 with a B.A. in English, Wicker earned teacher certification for high school and middle school English as well as a master’s degree in education from the University of Missouri St. Louis.
