Faculty and Students To Represent Rhodes at Joint Mathematics Meetings in San Diego

Rhodes faculty and students will participate in the Joint Mathematics Meetings Jan. 9-12 in San Diego, Calif. The Joint Mathematics Meetings is one of the largest conferences in the world and is sponsored by the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and Mathematical Association of America (MAA).

In an undergraduate research session on applied mathematics, Joshua Cape ’14 will present “Model-Implied Measures of Risk-Adjusted Returns in Stochastic Volatility Models.” Professors Rachel Dunwell and Jeff Hamrick will participate on a statistics education panel, and Professor Eric Gottlieb will moderate a research session on graph theory and combinatorics.

Mathematicians from academia, government, and industry are expected to attend this year’s conference.
