The Women′s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the 2013 WBCA Division III Coaches′ All-America Team on March 14, and Lauren Avant of Rhodes was selected to the All-America Honorable Mention Team.
Avant is one of only 40 women′s basketball players nationwide to be placed on either the WBCA All-America or Honorable Mention Teams. The junior guard guided the Lynx to the school′s best record and first trip to the NCAA Tournament this season.
She was named to the All-SAA First Team, was bestowed the SAA Defensive Player of the Year honor and received All South Region First Team accolades, as well.
A Memphis resident and graduate of Lausanne Collegiate School, Avant is a biology major.
