Lauren Kennedy ’08 Is New Executive Director of UrbanArt Commission

Rhodes alumna Lauren Kennedy recently became executive director of the UrbanArt Commission, a non-profit organization that has worked since 1997 to cultivate a dynamic, vibrant, and nurturing community through public art and design in Memphis.

Kennedy received a B.A. in art and French from Rhodes in 2008. While a student, she was a Center for Outreach in the Development of the Arts (CODA) Fellow as well as a customer relations intern in the Paris office of Sothebys.

More recently, she and two other Rhodes alumnae displayed “Pandora’s Children,” an exhibition in response to contemporary feminism, at Rhodes’ Clough-Hanson Gallery.
