Prof. Jeffrey Jackson, the J.J. McComb Chair in History at Rhodes, has received a fellowship from Yale University to conduct research in its Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. The Edith and Richard French Fellowship awarded to Jackson will provide travel and living expenses for work in the collection. The Beinecke Library holds documents by the artists Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, the subjects of Jackson’s next book tentatively titled "Soldiers With No Names: Two Women who Fought the Nazis for Life, Love, and Art."
In addition, Jackson has been appointed to the editorial board of French Historical Studies, the leading journal for the study of French history and culture in North America. Jackson will meet with other editors at the annual conference of the Society for French Historical Studies which publishes the journal, and review manuscripts submitted for publication.
