Dr. Vanessa Rogers, assistant professor of music at Rhodes, has been awarded a Visiting Research Fellowship this semester at the University of London’s Institute for Musical Research (IMR).
IMR facilitates research networks, welcomes visiting scholars, encourages cross-disciplinary projects, and enhances research impact through public events.
At Rhodes, Rogers teaches courses in music history and literature. Her primary area of research is 18th-century English stage music, and she is a research associate for the London Stage, 1800-1900 database as well as principal researcher forBallad Operas Online: An Electronic Catalogue at the University of Oxford.
At IMR, Rogers is researching and working on her book project titled Ballad Operas, Burlettas, and Burlesques: Comic Opera in Eighteenth-Century Britain.
