Rhodes Community Members Participate in LGBT? fine by me™ T-shirt Campaign

Rhodes’ Office of Student Affairs recently organized a LGBT? fine by me™ photo shoot on campus to demonstrate support of an inclusive environment for those who identify as LGBT. In the photo, several members of the Rhodes community display the LGBT? fine by me™ T-shirts.

The campaign gives individuals a way to start a conversation, publicly condemn homophobia, and support equal rights.

“This T-shirt campaign hopefully serves as reminder. Every time someone goes to his or her wardrobe and sees the shirt, that person will be reminded of what it means to promote an inclusive community,” says Student Leadership Coordinator Ira Lawson. “This is truly a conversation starter for students, faculty, and staff to continue to think of how we can promote standing as one for a greater purpose, that no matter who you are, it’s fine by us.”

Sponsors of the event include Rhodes’ Student Development and Academic Services, Office of Multicultural Affairs, Athletic Office, Counseling Center, Bonner Center for Faith & Service, Academic Affairs, and Office of Leadership Programming.
