Rhodes Students Garner Awards at New York Model European Union Conference

Rhodes students brought back awards after recently participating the 2023 SUNY (State University of New York) Model European Union Conference held in New York City.

Open to undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world, the event created a diverse environment and immersive experience that mirrors the European Union and its inner workings.

Each country delegation was made up of four students, representing a head of government, foreign minister, finance minister, and permanent representative.

Andy Chai ’25 and Muhammad Waraich ’25 represented the delegation of Hungary. Chai received the Distinguished Delegation Award and Most Effective Permanent Ambassador Award. Waraich received the Distinguished Delegation Award.

Sabrina Wilhelm ’23, Anna Shillinglaw ’23, Sarah Kate Childs ’25, and Molly Hirner ’25 represented the delegation of Ireland and all received Outstanding Agenda Item awards.
