Sabrina Simpson ’22 Takes Top Undergraduate Paper Prize at Association for Asian Studies Regional Conference

Sabrina Simpson ’22 of Spencerville, MD, recently won the Undergraduate Paper Prize presented at the Southeast Regional Conference of the Association for Asian Studies held in  Louisville, KY. The award was for her paper, “Animal Ethics in Thai Buddhism,” which she wrote for the Buddhism in Thai Society Summer 2021 course taught by Dr. Brooke Schedneck.

Simpson, who is pursuing a major in environmental science and minor in Asian Studies, works as an  environmental science Intern at the Memphis Farmers Market. As captain, she has led the Rhodes College hockey team, who won the Southern Athletic Association Championship in 2018 and 2021.
