Rhodes students Drishti Bhatia ’26 and Anna Everly ’27 are recipients of awards from the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) after a competitive process. Bhatia is the recipient of a TSCPA scholarship. Everly is one of only five juniors in the state to receive the Calvin and Jean King Foundation Award. She also has been selected as a TSCPA Student Influencer for 2025-26, who will collaborate with staff and volunteer leadership to promote the CPA profession and student membership.
Both are student members of TSCPA.
“Developing the next generation of CPAs in Tennessee is one of TSCPA’s top priorities,” said TSCPA President/CEO Kara Fitzgerald in a news release. “Thanks to the generosity of our members, the TSCPA Educational & Memorial Foundation scholarship program ensures we are working toward that goal by providing support to our state’s most promising accounting students each year.”
Bhatia, who is mathematics and economics major from Collierville, TN, presented the winning pitch for her business plan at the 2024 Rhodes College Venture Challenge. She currently is a process and compliance accounting intern for Hilton Hotels & Resorts. “I am applying to finance rotational programs across the country. My long-term goal is corporate financial management and continuing service in my community after graduation,” she said.
Everly is an economics and business major from Jackson, MS, and serves as an instructor for Mid-South Chess. As part of the Rhodes Impact Summer Service Fellowship, she worked this summer for Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA), organizing and analyzing survey data and helping to produce a video thanking the organization’s supporters. “I plan to complete the master's program at Rhodes and get my CPA certification,” she said.
