Gage Wilson ’27 is the recipient of the Top Portfolio Manager – Spring 2026 award in the Portfolio Management course.
The award honors outstanding performance in investment analysis, disciplined decision-making, and the application of financial and data-driven concepts to real-world markets. Wilson achieved the highest return among his peers, finishing the semester with an impressive 30.45 percent portfolio return in a competitive, semester-long stock market simulation.
The Portfolio Management course, taught by Dr. David Taylor, challenges students to actively manage a simulated investment portfolio while applying core financial principles such as risk, return, diversification, and market behavior. Rather than focusing solely on theory, the course emphasizes hands-on learning, requiring students to analyze financial data, evaluate investment opportunities, and defend their decisions using both theoretical frameworks and real market evidence.
“Gage demonstrated a strong ability to combine data analysis with sound investment judgment,” said Taylor. “His performance reflects both technical skill and a disciplined approach to portfolio management.”
