On Tuesday, December 8th, the Department of Greek and Roman Studies hosted a campus-wide Hanukkah event. While Professor David Sick fried up some homemade latkes, Professor Joe Jansen gave a presentation on the history of the holiday from both the religious and historical perspectives.
Throughout the event, there was much dreidel spinning and chocolate eating. While the latkes were advertised as “far inferior to your grandmother’s”—and they were—they were still delicious. Overall, it was a great way to start the holiday season. Happy Hanukkah!
