Joe Angelillo ’20 Brings Back Best Undergraduate Paper Award from Regional History Conference

Rhodes junior history major Joe Angelillo won the award for Best Undergraduate Paper at the recent Phi Alpha Theta Regional Conference held Feb. 9 at Arkansas State University. His paper is titled “No Remedy for Racism: The Crump Regime and Perpetuating the Burden of Blackness.”  

Phi Alpha Theta is a national history honor society, and The University of Memphis, University of Central Arkansas, and Harding University were among the other schools represented at the regional conference.

Tim Nelson ’20, a Rhodes political science major and member of Phi Alpha Theta, also presented his paper “Affirming the Inclusion of Diversity Programs: The (d)Evolution of Affirmative Action since Bakke” at the conference.
