Morgan Honored for Distinguished Service by Financial Aid Administrators Association

Michael Morgan, the director of financial aid at Rhodes College, has been awarded the 2026 Distinguished Service Award by the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA). The award was presented during the association’s annual conference held Feb. 15-18 in Charlotte, NC.

Morgan previously served as president of SASFAA from 2022 to 2023, during which time he also acted as a representative for the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

SASFAA consists of financial aid professionals from nine Southern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The organization aims to promote the professional development of individuals in financial aid, develop effective programs related to student financial aid, facilitate communication among its stakeholders, and continuously evaluate and enhance its services.

Morgan joined Rhodes in 2013 after working for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. He has more than 35 years of experience in various areas of higher education.
