The Rhodes College chapter of Mortar Board, a national honor society for seniors, has received the prestigious 2026 Gold Torch Award from the national office. This award recognizes chapters that are committed to making a positive impact on their campuses and in their communities. It is given annually to the organization’s most exceptional chapters.
Founded in 1918, Mortar Board honors college seniors for their accomplishments in scholarship, leadership, and service. With 236 chapters nationwide, the organization provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities, and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community. Only a select number of students at each campus are invited to join this esteemed society.
The Rhodes chapter was established in 1964.
