A new book by Dr. Evelyn M. Perry, associate professor of sociology, is scheduled for publication Feb. 27, 2017 by the University of North Carolina Press. It is titled Live and Let Live.
Using more than three years of ethnographic fieldwork and interviews, Perry has analyzed the multiethnic, mixed-income community of Riverwest in Milwaukee, WI and explored mechanisms by which neighborhoods shape the perceptions, behaviors, and opportunities of those who live in them. At Rhodes, Perry teaches a variety of courses that focus on urban and community sociology, culture and inequality, social problems and research methods.
