Composer Evan Williams’ 10-part song cycle titled “Emily’s House” opens the “Preach Sister, Preach” album by award-winning soprano Katherine Jolly and was recently mentioned in a positive review by Gramophone Magazine, which is a major publication in classical music.
Williams is assistant professor of music and director of instrumental activities at Rhodes. Through song, “Emily’s House” re-creates 10 poems by Emily Dickinson and the life she lived in Amherst, MA.
The album was released August 2019 and is available for purchase though a number of digital platforms, including Apple Music, Google Play, and Amazon.
