Dr. Mark Muesse, associate professor of religious studies at Rhodes, has published a new book titled Four Wise Men: The Lives and Teachings of Confucius, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad (Cascade Books, 2017). He provides an introduction to each in his historical context and explores how their lives and teachings have shaped worldviews and religions.
“Four Wise Men is a superb, yet accessible resource for college and divinity students, book clubs, serious adult study programs in churches, and a wide range of interested nonspecialists,” says Charles Kimball, director of religious studies at the University of Oklahoma.
At Rhodes, Muesse teaches courses in world religions and philosophy, modern theology, and spirituality. He also is author of The Hindu Traditions (2011) and The Age of the Sages (2013).
