Ecumenica has appointed Dr. David Mason as its new editor, to direct the journal’s content and to oversee the operations of its non-profit organization. Mason is chair of theatre and director of Asian studies at Rhodes.
The journal began in 2003 as the Baylor Journal of Theatre and Performance and became Ecumenica in 2008. The peer-reviewed journal is committed to publishing scholarship on theatre and performance related especially to the intersection of performance and religion.
Under Mason’s direction, the journal aims to publish more international work, treating religion and performance as broad concepts that are inclusive of such things as theatre, performance art, film, ritual, meditation, theology, festival, etc.
