With primary elections underway throughout the U.S., Dr. Michael Nelson, a recognized Presidential scholar and the Fulmer Professor of Political Science at Rhodes, is discussing his new book on Bill Clinton’s place in American politics.
In Clinton's Elections: 1992, 1996, and the Birth of a New Era of Governance (University Press of Kansas, 2020), Nelson traces the former President’s emergence as a potential nominee in 1988 to his role in political campaigns up to 2016, when President Donald Trump was elected.
Nelson recently offered comparisons and contrasts between Clinton and Trump on The Daily Memphian Politics Podcast. He is scheduled to give a book talk/signing March 15 at Novel Bookstore in Memphis, located at 387 Perkins Ext. The talk begins at 2 p.m.
