Joy Brooke Fairfield, assistant professor of theatre, appears in a leading role in Once, a multi-Tony-winning musical enjoying its regional premiere at Playhouse on the Square. The show blends music and storytelling in an unusual way. The production’s orchestra consists of the actors themselves, including Fairfield on violin. The role of "Reza" not only demands musicianship, but showcases triple-threat expertise that Fairfield has developed in a considerable career in theater from New York to Seattle to San Francisco. The production runs January 19 and through February 11.
