Dr. Chia-rong Wu, associate professor of Chinese studies, has been awarded a 2018 Scholar Grant by the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange. The organization supports Chinese studies around the world.
In Spring 2019, Wu will take a sabbatical leave funded by the grant to complete his second book manuscript, titled “Remapping the Contested Sinosphere: Cross-cultural Landscape and Ethnoscape of Taiwan.” His research includes modern Chinese literature and cinema and Sinophone studies.
