Faculty and students of the Department of Chemistry represented Rhodes at the Spring 2023 American Chemical Society meeting in Indianapolis, IN, where thousands of chemistry professionals met to share ideas and advance scientific and technical knowledge.

Eleven students and Drs. Darlene Loprete and Dhammika Muesse presented their research. Dr. Shana Stoddard was an invited panelist at the Presidential Events Symposium: Research at HBCUs, where she talked about the STEM Cohort Mentoring Program she developed at Rhodes.

In related news, Stoddard will be the 2023 Scholar-in-Residence for the National Science Foundation Center for Sustainable Nanotechnology spearheaded at UW-Madison. She will be conducting research on campus at Rhodes with the assistance of a summer research student, as well as holding professional development sessions for the faculty, post-docs, graduate students, and undergraduate participants in the program.
