Dr. Angi Bourgeois, head of the Department of Art at Mississippi State University, is among 52 selected as 2016-17 Southeastern Conference Academic (SEC) Leadership Development Program Fellows. The program seeks to identify, prepare, and advance academic leaders for roles within SEC institutions and beyond.
Since the program’s inception in 2008, program alumni have taken leadership roles as deans and provosts, among other senior-level positions, at universities around the country. Bourgeois graduated from Rhodes in 1994 with a B.A. in art, and she went on to complete a doctorate in Italian Renaissance art history from Emory University. Earlier this year, she was elected to a two-year term as secretary for the Italian Arts Society, an international scholarly organization.
