Rhodes College is among undergraduate institutions nationwide recently named on The Princeton Review’s Mental Health Services Honor Roll for 2027. This distinction recognizes institutions that demonstrate a strong commitment to their students’ mental health and well-being through services, administrative support, policies, and education programs.
The Princeton Review, which is an education services company, partnered with the Ruderman Family Foundation to conduct a two-part survey, including administrators and students, from fall 2025 through summer 2026.
The honor roll lists 76 schools in alphabetical order rather than rank and includes the honorees’ profiles.
The Rhodes College profile describes the college’s mental health offerings as “combining accessible short-term counseling with additional remote care, peer support, and campus outreach.”
These offerings include:
- A student counseling center providing short-term counseling at no cost during the academic year, with off-campus referrals for longer-term or specialized treatment
- Counseling center clinicians having experience to support the student populations they serve and receiving continuing education to strengthen their knowledge
- Mental health and well-being outreach, often using activities and informational materials to address suicide prevention, identity-related stress or bias, and mental health stigma
Scheduled visits by therapy dogs - Peer-to-peer resources where students can get up to 60 minutes of active contact with a peer listener monthly at no charge
- Annual training for resident assistants on available mental health resources for students as well as annual suicide prevention training
“We are honored to recognize Rhodes College for the many ways it prioritizes the mental health of Rhodes students and its exceptional commitment to their well-being,” said aid Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review. “When it comes to student success in college, well-being is everything.”
