Rhodes College's Tau Delta chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, has been honored with a Best Chapter Award for 2025-2026. Prof. Thomas Goodman is the chapter advisor.

The Rhodes chapter is one out of more than 830 chapters nationwide to receive the award, which recognizes a chapter whose members actively engage at their institution and within their communities, all while embodying the society’s mission to promote scholarship and intellectual interest in political science.

Tanya Schwarz, the executive director of Pi Sigma Alpha, noted, “We were impressed with the chapter’s achievements in developing activities promoting civic engagement and professional development.”

Best Chapter Awards include a cash prize for both the chapter and the advisor. In addition, winners will be announced across Pi Sigma Alpha’s digital platforms and will be featured in the American Political Science Association’s magazine, Political Science Today.
