Rhodes College has hired José C. Rodriguez as its new chief information officer. He has more than 20 years of experience at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, where he most recently served as director of information technology for the university’s Candler School of Theology.
“I’m delighted that José is bringing his talent and experience to Rhodes College. I look forward to working with him and others to develop a strategic vision for our library and information services,” says President Marjorie Hass.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in entomology at The University of Georgia and a master’s degree at Washington State University, Rodriguez began his career at Emory University as a research assistant and lab manager in the School of Medicine. He went on to provide desktop support for the humanities at Emory as well as become the founding director of technology for the language center.
“I am delighted to join the Rhodes and Memphis communities,” he says. “I have felt very welcomed by all and am thrilled to be working with such sharp, dedicated staff in Information Services. I’m energized by them and by the faculty I have met, and I look forward to welcoming students to a new academic year.”
