Rhodes College’s men's lacrosse team will host Huntingdon College in their first-ever NCAA postseason appearance after earning an automatic bid. The women's lacrosse team will host the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second year in a row.
After winning their first-ever Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament Championship on April 28th, the men's lacrosse team will meet the Huntingdon Hawks on Wednesday, May 9, in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The game begins at 3 p.m. on Crain Field.
Rhodes is ranked 15th in the latest NCAA South Regional ranking. The Lynx went undefeated in conference play for the second consecutive year, earning the SAA's regular season title (6-0). They are 13-2 on the season.
The eventual Division III national championship game will be on Sunday, May 27, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.
Making their fourth straight NCAA appearance in the program's five-year history, Rhodes women’s lacrosse, the top-ranked team in the Mid-South, will host Transylvania on Sunday, May 13 at 1 p.m. on Mason Field. The 42-team tournament boasts 29 automatic bids and 13 at-large berths.
This will be the first time Rhodes and Transylvania will meet on the lacrosse field. The Lynx are 14-3 on the season after going undefeated in conference play for the second year in a row. Rhodes enters the tournament on an eight-game winning streak.
The eventual NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship will be held May 26-27 in Salem, VA, at Kerr Stadium on the campus of Roanoke College.
Tickets for both events are $6 for adults, $3 for children, and free for Rhodes students with ID.
