Rhodes Mock Trial Team A won the inaugural Texas Showdown, an invitational tournament hosted by the University of Texas School of Law Nov. 16-17. Top teams from across the nation competed.
Rhodes A faced off against teams from Tulane, University of Texas, University of Southern California, and Texas A&M University. In a field that also included UCLA, Southern Methodist University, and Baylor University, Rhodes finished with a perfect record, winning 12 of 12 ballots.
In addition to Rhodes winning the tournament, Bell Tucci was named an Outstanding Attorney and Maya Bridgeman was named an Outstanding Witness.
Other team members are Cormac Maclae and Christyn Sanders (captains), Kate Buikema, Kevin Caltry, Michell Leander, and Martin Maxim.
Rhodes A is coached by Anna Eldridge and was assisted for the tournament by Richard Madden.
American Mock Trial Association teams across the nation compete in invitationals in the fall. They compete in a series of regional and open-round championship tournaments in the spring, hoping to make it to the nationals in April.
Rhodes Mock Trial Team Black won the invitational tournament hosted by Missouri State University Nov. 1-3.
