The 2025-2026 mock trial season concluded April 17-19 with Rhodes competing in the American Mock Trial Association National Championship Tournament in Washington, D.C. Rhodes achieved an impressive fourth place finish. Out of approximately 800 mock trial teams, only the top 50 qualified to compete at the national level.

“Our Rhodes A team showcased outstanding skill and determination, winning every round of competition against formidable opponents from the University of Michigan, UCLA, Emory, and William & Mary. Although tiebreakers placed us fourth in our division, this speaks volumes about the team’s talent and hard work,” said Anna Eldridge, director of Mock Trial at Rhodes.

Rhodes students who represented the college at nationals include Zoe Haug and Eli Palmer (captains), Yasmeen Abunasrah, Julia Brinker, Johnathan Burch, Sienna Collier, Mitchell Leander, Amelia Rursch, Musa Sheriff, Hadley Wright, Evie Shankel, Dana Shala, and Cece Warhurst.

In the tournament, junior urban studies major Mitchell Leander was named an All-American Witness, and senior political science major Zoe Haug was named an All-American Attorney.
