Chanelle Benz, assistant professor of English at Rhodes College, has been named one of the The Los Angeles Times “11 Authors to Watch in 2019.”
Benz made her literary debut in 2017 with a collection of short stories titled The Man Who Shot Out My Eye is Dead. Her first novel, The Gone Dead, is set to release in June.
Her stories have appeared in Guernica, Granta.com, Electric Literature's Recommended Reading, The American Reader, Fence, and The O. Henry Prize Stories 2014. Benz previously taught at the University of Houston and Colorado College, where she was a visiting writer.
