Rhodes Students Awarded Third Place for Research Presented at Louisiana State University Conference

Rhodes College team Jackson Thelen, Caroline Buendia and Audrey Griffith was awarded third place for their oral presentation at the Louisiana State University Discover Undergraduate Research Conference. Held April 19 in Baton Rouge, LA, the conference highlighted student participation in faculty-mentored research and professional-level activities.

The group presented “Analysis of Presumptive Chemoautotrophic Systems in Tennessee and Alabama Caves” in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics category. 

Dr. Jamie Engman, assistant professor of biology, mentored the group.
