Colleen Hulsey ’19, a biomathematics and environmental science double major, and Tierin Burrow ’19, an environmental science major, received awards at the Memphis Area Geographic Information Council annual conference held Nov. 1-2.
Hulsey won first place in the student poster competition for her research project “Bee Population Shift in California from 2001 to 2011,” and Burrow won third place in the student poster competition for her project “Food Source Availability in Shelby County, TN.” Prof. Sarah Boyle is their advisor.
The Memphis Area Geographic Information Council is a consortium of geographic information system (GIS) professionals spanning the public, private, and governmental business sectors. This student competition included entries from undergraduate and graduate students.
