Rhodes’ VP of Student Life Chosen for Highly Selective Pahara-Aspen Education Fellowship

Dr. Russell Wigginton, vice president of student life and dean of students at Rhodes, is one of 25 leaders nationwide recently named a Fall 2018 Pahara-Aspen Education Fellow by the Pahara and Aspen Institutes. The highly selective fellowship identifies transformational leaders in education reform, facilitates their dynamic growth over the course of two years, and strengthens their collective efforts to improve public schools.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Pahara Institute helps sustain leaders who are reimagining public education in America. The Aspen Institute is an educational and policy studies organization based in Washington, DC.

A 1988 Rhodes alumnus, Wigginton has a 22-year professional career at the college, having served as vice president of external programs, vice president for college relations, assistant to the president for community relation, and a member of the history faculty. He also is active in the Memphis community and has served on numerous boards.
