Rhodes Welcomes Dr. Noelle Chaddock, New Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for Diversity and Inclusivity

Dr. Noelle Chaddock has joined the Rhodes College staff as associate dean of academic affairs for diversity and inclusivity, which is a new position at the college. Chaddock also will be a faculty member in the Africana studies program and will teach the course The Making of Race in the Americas. Prior to joining the Rhodes staff, they served as chief diversity officer at the State University of New York at Cortland. Chaddock received their degrees from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

In their new position, Chaddock will work closely with the president’s office, dean of faculty, student affairs, and other areas on institutional strategies to ensure the college is a diverse and welcoming community.

“I am interested in creating space for institutional conversations in the private and public spheres around diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice,” Chaddock says. “Lots of great work has already taken place at the college, and I am excited to spend time with students, faculty, staff, alumni and community to discover new ways to advance the mission of Rhodes.”

“Dr. Chaddock brings a wealth of experience and insights to Rhodes,” says Dr. Milton Moreland, vice president for academic affairs. “We are very pleased to have a new colleague who cares deeply about the success of our students, and who is so skilled at helping our faculty deal with vitally important topics in their classes and around our campus. And [their] scholarly background in philosophy and critical race theory will add new dimensions to our course offerings.”
