Kate Collier and Ed Trouy
(r to l) Kate Collier and Ed Trouy

The Rhodes Staff Advisory Council is thrilled to announce two more winners of the new PAWS for Applause award. The Persons Achieving Work Success award was created to honor outstanding staff at Rhodes. Nominations can be submitted by faculty, staff, and students to recognize these dedicated members of our community. The Rhodes Staff Advisory Council will select up to two winners each quarter, and recipients will receive lots of praise, an award, and free meals on their Lynx card.

We now PAWS for Applause to recognize Kate Collier, departmental assistant, and Ed Trouy, network and computer engineer.

Kate’s nominators wrote, “Kate is simply the best. Amazing at her job, always friendly and with a smile, but not afraid to talk business and figure things out. Kate is has been a mother bear to all the departmental assistants and students. Being in charge of six departments is no easy feat. Kate makes it look seamless at times. She is always encouraging and always welcoming others for advice. She keeps so many different departments running and still makes time to help out others when she can. She constantly goes above and beyond to ensure the train is running. Her personality and overall persona just makes her a campus delight.”

Ed’s’s nominators wrote, “Ed deserves special recognition for working long nights and exhausting weekends for over a month in January and February to deploy our new wired and wireless network equipment, as well as two new firewalls that protect the campus and connect us to the internet. Throughout all of this stressful process, Ed maintained a strict focus on improving the student experience, including taking time to personally assist students with their connectivity issues and listen to their feedback to help make tweaks to the new wireless network.”

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding members of our staff!  As you think of people that you would like to receive this honor, you can submit your nomination here.
