Since 1995, Rhodes’ Department of International Studies has published the peer-reviewed student journal Modus Vivendi. Co-Editors-in-Chief Sarah Eiland ’20 and Kristen Morris ’20 selected five articles for the Spring 2020 issue, which features Jaclyn Flood ’21, Grace Files ’21, Xiaojie Ji ’21, Lily Roberts ’22, and Phyu Khine ’20.

“This year's journal is truly representative of the diversity of thought that makes international studies at Rhodes so strong,” says Eiland. “The papers this year cover a wide array of subject matter including international refugee law, feminist critiques of state security, U.S trade with China, environmental impacts of global food waste, and an analysis of South Korean democratization. The high caliber of the work published is a testament to the hard work of these students and of the rigor of the Department of International Studies.”
