Each year, the Phi Alpha Theta national history honor society invites all chapters to enter its Gerald D. Nash undergraduate print journal competition. The Rhodes Historical Review won third place in the 2023 competition.
Established in 1921, Phi Alpha Theta has more than 400,000 members, including undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history.
Patsy Wardlaw ’23 and Emma Stauber ’23 served as editors-in-chief of the award-winning Volume 25 of the Rhodes Historical Review, produced in Spring 2023 with student-written essays on a range of topics and time periods. Dr. Samson Ndanyi served as faculty advisor.
The journal can be found in the Ned R. McWherter Library at The University of Memphis, the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Public Library of Memphis, and The Paul J. Barret, Jr. Library at Rhodes College.
