
Rev. Beatrix Weil, chaplain at Rhodes College, is the recipient of the Outstanding Professional Award presented by the Spirituality and Religion in Higher Education Knowledge Community of NASPA, the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education. Weil received the award at NASPA’s annual conference held March 15-19 in New Orleans.
The mission of the Spirituality and Religion in Higher Education Knowledge Community is to enhance and contribute to the conversations about spirituality in higher education across all types of post-secondary institutions. The Outstanding Professional Award is given annually to a NASPA member who has devoted time and energy and made great professional contributions to the promotion of spirituality and religion on their campus.
A member of the Rhodes staff since 2018, Weil has created prayer spaces and welcoming environments for individuals of diverse faiths as well as hosted a lunch series with local faith leaders focusing on dialogue across difference. In 2024, she was named Chaplain of the Year by the Association for Chaplaincy and Spiritual Life in Higher Education.
