Memphis’ Luna Nova Ensemble will present a concert Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in memory of Rhodes alumna Jane McAtee Patterson ’51. Free and open to the public, the event will be held in Rhodes’ Hardie Auditorium located on the second floor of Palmer Hall. The program will be made up largely of contemporary works inspired by literature and music of Japan.

The January 24th issue of the Memphis Flyer features its annual “20 Under 30” list of individuals helping to shape Memphis’ future.

Among them are 2006 Rhodes alumna Jen Andrews who is director of development and communications at the Shelby Farms Conservancy and Rhodes junior Frankie Dakin who began his term as Millington, Tenn. alderman Jan. 1.

Although Elvis Presley is no longer living, stories of his days in one Memphis neighborhood are being preserved thanks to the efforts of Rhodes students.

Rhodes offers a variety of campus visit events on Saturdays and other select days throughout the year for prospective students. Upcoming sessions are noted below. Click on a date for more information or to schedule a visit.

Dr. William Skoog, conductor of the MasterSingers Chorale at Rhodes College, announces auditions for all voice parts for Spring 2013.

Students can experience a multitude of Memphis events and cultural sites thanks to the Big Diehl program.

Mark D. West, a highly regarded scholar of the Japanese legal system, has been selected the 17th dean of the University of Michigan Law School. He currently serves as the school’s associate dean for academic affairs.
