At the college’s annual Awards Convocation hosted by Academic Affairs on April 28, various Rhodes departments and programs recognized outstanding students.

New Jersey native Jada Myricks ’19 chose Rhodes not only for a change of pace from the East Coast, but also for Rhodes’ active relationship with Memphis.

The Rhodes College Athletic Department held its annual Awards Banquet April 24 honoring student-athletes.

Dr. Marcus Pohlmann and Dr. Betsy Sanders are recipients of Rhodes’ faculty honors for outstanding teaching and research, which were presented at the annual Rhodes College Awards Convocation.

On Saturday, April 22, the women’s track and field team won their 10th straight conference title and their fifth straight SAA Championship. The men’s team earned a second-place finish.

At the Campus Life Awards ceremony, members of the Rhodes community were recognized for their excellent level of commitment and passion in their respective areas of campus involvement. 

Zippia, a new website dedicated to helping graduates with their career choices, recently listed the college in the top 10 nationally and first in Tennessee for “Best Colleges for Employment in Each State.”

The Rhodes College Chapter of Iota Iota Iota, the Honor Society of Gender and Sexuality Studies, will induct the following new members April 25 on campus: 

The Rhodes Summer Writing Institute, a two-week, residential program held on campus for high school students, will celebrate its 40th anniversary this summer.

Dr. David Mason, whose research involves theater and religion, tied his spring 2017 lab to McCoy Theatre’s third production, “The Rhodes Cycle.” Mason set out to introduce students to the communal staging methods used by towns during the Middle Ages to present dramatized versions of biblical events known as cycle plays.
