A Rhodes team has been accepted to participate in the 2024-2025 Students Transforming Through Research Advocacy Program presented by The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). The program is a competitive application-based professional development opportunity for teams consisting of a campus representative and one to three undergraduate students.

Representatives from Rhodes are Professors Larryn Peterson (chemistry) and Brent Hoffmeister (physics). Rhodes students include Jennifer Bui, Hugh Ferguson, Layla Lammers, Trinity Liaw, and Catherine Prabish.

“We’re very excited about this opportunity and how it underscores the strong commitment Rhodes has for undergraduate research,” said Hoffmeister.

The five-month program will take 63 teams through communication and advocacy skill-building exercises to promote the transformative power of undergraduate research and scholarship on a national stage. These teams will represent 22 states.

Founded in 1978, CUR provides a platform for mentoring, connecting, and creating relationships centered around undergraduate research.
