Rhodes College Announces New Key Positions in Academic Affairs
Three Rhodes faculty members have joined the Office of Academic Affairs, which is dedicated to empowering a community of strong teacher-scholars and developing transformative programs and experiences for a talented student body. They are Dr. Tim Huebner, associate provost; Dr. Natalie Person, dean for curricular development; and Dr. Amy Jasperson, dean for faculty development. They assumed their new roles July 1.

Dr. Alicia Golston has been promoted to dean of students at Rhodes College, effective July 1, 2019. She served as associate dean of students in 2017 and became associate dean for student experience in 2018.

Computer Science Students Explore New Possibilities in Robotics
Using cutting-edge technologies in robotics, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence, students in Dr. Ross Sowell’s Human-Robot Interaction course and Dr. Betsy Sanders’ Virtual Environments course showed off their computer science skills at an end-of-year exhibition of class projects.

2019 Outstanding Staff Awards Presented
Four Rhodes employees—Alonzo Longstreet, Jennifer Logan, Tierney Jackson, and Karen Mosley—were recognized with the college’s 2019 Outstanding Staff Awards based on nominations submitted by faculty, staff, and students. The presentations were made May 16 at the annual Service Recognition Brunch.
