Student Community Engagement: Rhodes Team Helps to Create Revitalization Blueprint for a Memphis Park

A team of Rhodes College students from the Research for Action Lab, over the course of 18 months, collaborated with local organizations Play Where You Stay, the Heights CDC, and Dragonfly Studio to conduct a community needs assessment and create a revitalization blueprint for Treadwell Park in the Highland Heights neighborhood in Memphis. The team focused on identifying community priorities, understanding park usage, and addressing environmental challenges.

First-Year Experience

The first year of college life can bring challenges to even the most outgoing, well-adjusted student. Rhodes aims to ease that transition.

Gen Z

Like colleges across the country, Rhodes welcomes the next great generation of scholars, Gen Z. Known as self-starters, self-learners, and self-motivators, Gen Z students present a new slate of challenges for recruitment and retention. As it always has, Rhodes rises to the occasion.
