Rhodes College’s Meeman Center for Lifelong Learning Announces Spring 2026 Session

Registration is underway for the Spring 2026 session of the Meeman Center for Lifelong Learning at Rhodes College. The center offers non-credit courses designed for adult learners, with options ranging from single sessions to multiple meetings. Engaging courses are expertly guided by Rhodes professors and cover a variety of topics from history and literature to current events.

Rhodes College’s Phi Beta Kappa Chapter to Induct New Members

Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is America’s oldest collegiate honor society. Its campus chapters invite for induction the most outstanding liberal arts students at America’s leading colleges and universities. Fewer than one percent of U.S. college graduates are eligible. Membership is one of the highest academic honors a student can attain, and it stands as a life-long mark of excellence in the study of the liberal arts.

Four Seniors Win Fulbright Student Awards

Rhodes seniors James Blan, Ace Cole, and Isabela Tablan have been selected to receive Fulbright U.S. Student Awards for the 2023-2024 academic year. Tim Turcotte is the recipient of a Fulbright Austria U.S. Teaching Assistantship.

Rhodes Plays Host to National Mock Trial Championship Tournament, Eldridge Receives Award

Smart. Talented. Articulate. Dedicated. These words aptly describe the top 48 out of 700 mock trial teams in the nation that were in Memphis April 14-16 for the 38th American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) National Championship. The event was hosted by Rhodes College and sponsored by Burch, Porter & Johnson and The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.

Richards Selected for National Senior Leadership Academy

Dr. Rashna Richards, dean for faculty development, reviews, and assessment at Rhodes, has been admitted into the 2023-2024 Senior Leadership Academy of the Council of Independent Colleges and the American Academic Leadership Institute.Up to 40 participants are selected for the competitive year-long program, which is designed for administrators to acquire knowledge, skills, and experience germane to the responsibilities and activities central to the work of a vice president or cabinet officer.

Two Rhodes College Students Named 2023 Goldwater Scholars

Rhodes College junior Abigail Hultquist and sophomore Ryan McCrory are among the 413 students from across the United States who have been selected as Goldwater Scholars in the 2023 competition. Established by Congress in 1986 to honor Barry M. Goldwater, the Goldwater Foundation provides scholarships to support college sophomores and juniors who show exceptional promise of becoming the nation’s next generation of natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering research leaders.
