After growing up on Long Island, NY, Rev. Beatrix Weil attended the University of Notre Dame and Princeton Theological Seminary. She was ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and completed a one-year chaplain residency at Presbyterian College.

More than 500 Rhodes students have participated in a summer enrichment activity, everything from study abroad to local community service.

Rhodes College Executive Director of Athletics Portia Hoeg announced today the hiring of Tyler Papadinis as head men’s basketball coach, effective Aug. 15. Papadinis comes to Rhodes after spending the past three seasons on the coaching staff at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The annual Ostrander Awards salute the best in local community and college theater. Rising senior Ryan Gilliam also was nominated for Leading Actor in a Drama for his role in  McCoy Theatre’s production of “Theophilus North.”

In 2017, women made up only 26 percent of the computing workforce, according to the National Center for Women and Information Technology. Professors Betsy Sanders and Brian Larkins of Rhodes’ Department of Mathematics and Computer Science say they hope that with programs such as Camp Codette, that percentage will surge in the future.

Rankings in the guide are based on surveys of 138,000  students from across the country. The Princeton Review does not rank the schools in the book overall. 

For Micah Moreland '20, the Summer Service Fellowship was about more than service, it was about finding his niche in the community.

Connor Frost, Elise Moix, Kayla Puzdrakiewicz, Madison Perchik, Abby Polzin, and Megan Simons have been working with Prof. Mauricio Cafiero on the design of small molecules with the potential to act as treatments for Parkinson’s disease.

Nine fellows have been participating in this year’s Rhodes Institute for Regional Studies. Much in the same way that some students go abroad to absorb the culture of a specific country, the fellows explore the Mid-South through field excursions, focused academic research, faculty mentorship, and more.
