Rhodes College field hockey junior Hailey Mules has been named the fifth All-American in the program’s history after a record-breaking season with the Lynx, as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Six students have been selected recipients of international internship scholarships awarded by Rhodes’ Department of Economics and the Department of Business. Students will work the summer of 2019 in countries of their choosing and with companies they believe will give them the best opportunity to gain valuable career experience.
Rhodes’ Postgraduate Scholarship Committee is endorsing three juniors to compete for the 2019 Truman Scholarship, the premier graduate fellowship in the United States for those pursuing careers as public service leaders. They are Adam Cruthirds and Tony Eskridge, both from Memphis, TN, and William “Alex” Schramkowski from Brentwood, TN.
They are Sarah Eiland ’20, Jessica Frankl ’20, Caitlin Gaine ’20, Joon Hwang ’21, Phyu Khine ’20, Krisin Morris ’20, and Sara Weeks ’20, who will have an opportunity to work in a country of their choosing in the summer of 2019. The Mertie W. Buckman International Internship Program is for outstanding sophomores and juniors majoring in international studies.
Senior left tackle DJ Coker has been named an American Football Coaches Association All-American, becoming the first Lynx to earn All-American honors by the AFCA in back-to-back seasons. 
Dr. Tyler Lefevor, assistant professor of psychology, and senior psychology majors Sydney Sorrell, Grace Kappers, and Ashley Plunk have co-authored a paper to be published in a forthcoming issue of the peer-reviewed academic journal.

The Rhodes College Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL) won Best Delegation at the 49th General Assembly held Nov. 16-18 at the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville. The Rhodes delegation had 23 representatives who served in every area of TISL including the House of Representatives, Senate Supreme Court, and the Appellate Moot Court Collegiate Challenge. Students also served as lobbyists and media personnel.

She is former features editor of InStyle magazine and deputy editor of Billboard magazine, and over her career, she has created and managed content for various media platforms including online, mobile, and video.
Rhodes is one of only 75 colleges and universities eligible to make nominations for the nationally competitive fellowship supported by the Henry Luce Foundation in New York.
