Memphis is one of the best places to go in 2019, according to a new list released by Frommer’s Travel Guides. It’s also one of the best places to go to college. 

Soon after graduating from Rhodes in 2013 with a major in political economy, Sameer Shafi Warraich moved back to his home country of Pakistan. Warraich calls the years since “nothing short of a rebirth.” Now, he's addressing educational barriers in Pakistan through teaching and helping to develop schools.
Rhodes’ Postgraduate Scholarship Committee is endorsing Avani Alapati, Gracie Collier, and Rachel Fox, all seniors. The Thomas J. Watson Fellowship provides a $30,000 grant for purposeful, independent exploration abroad.
For senior Emily Perry, it was the fulfillment of a lifelong ambition when she spent the fall of 2017 in a small Russian city just north of the Mongolian border, studying Russian literature and economics. 
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers grants to graduating seniors and graduate students to conduct research, study, and/or teach for one year in more than 140 countries. Recipients are chosen for their academic merit and intellectual potential and must go through an on-campus application process.
