Seven seniors’ portraits will be added to Rhodes’ Hall of Fame, housed on the second floor of Southwestern Hall. They are Abbey Bako, Dorian Canales, Katie Clark, Adam Cruthirds, Tony Eskridge, Annie Ouyang, and Jackie Paiz. Selection to the Hall of Fame, established in 1931, is based on individual merit, leadership in student activities, service to others, and overall contributions to the campus community. Honorees are chosen by their peers.
Margaux Moze ’20 Explores the Economics of the International Wine Trade
It seems only natural that Margaux Moze ’20, whose namesake is a wine produced in the Bordeaux region, would develop an interest in wine. But it was an enduring interest in French culture and a semester abroad in a small town in the south of France that opened her eyes to the world of the international wine trade and the possibility of being a part of that industry.

History Department and Honor Society Produces Annual Student-Edited Research Journal
The Rhodes Historical Review is published annually by the Rhodes chapter of Phi Alpha Theta history honor society and the Department of History. Editors Sarah Eiland ’20 and Joe Angelillo ’20 selected the essays for this year’s issue—Volume 22—featuring Grace Files ’21, Nicholas Langford ’20, Matthew Broussard ’20, and Gary Whittaker ’20.

Spring 2020 Student-Produced International Studies Journal Covers Topics From Refugee Law to Global Food Waste
Since 1995, Rhodes’ Department of International Studies has published the peer-reviewed student journal Modus Vivendi. Co-Editors-in-Chief Sarah Eiland ’20 and Kristen Morris ’20 selected five articles for the Spring 2020 issue, which features Jaclyn Flood ’21, Grace Files ’21, Xiaojie Ji ’21, Lily Roberts ’22, and Phyu Khine ’20.

Looking for the Next Harry Potter: Madeleine Wright ’21 Interns with Storm Literary Agency
English major Madeleine Wright ’21 is one of the Rhodes students who’s been able to continue their internship despite the disruption COVID-19 has had on so many organizations. In fact, the Davidson, NC, native has been working remotely since fall 2019 as one of the few undergraduate students on staff for Storm Literary Agency in Mound, MN, which specializes in quality children’s literature and young adult fiction ranging from dystopian novels to fantasy.

Rhodes Alum Grant Ramey Recognized for Outstanding Performance on CPA Exam
Grant Ramey, a graduate of Rhodes College with a bachelor’s degree in economics/business (2018) and a master’s degree in accounting (2019), is one of only 137 winners of the prestigious Elijah Watt Sells Award recently announced by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). The award recognizes outstanding performance on the Uniform CPA Examination.

Jessica Frankl, a senior educational studies and international studies double major from Foster City, CA, is the winner of a Fulbright U.S. Student Award for the 2020-2021 academic year. Depending on travel conditions in the fall, she will serve as an English Teaching Assistant in India.
